Ionia Sentinel-Standard- Mon. Feb. 7, 1994

IONIA- Ruth C. Jackson, 85, of Lansing, formerly of Ionia, died Feb. 6, 1994 at 
St. Lawrence Hospital in Lansing. She was born July 3, 1908, in Ionia, the 
daughter of Hiram and Jenny (Brower) Castle. She was a 1926 graduate of Ionia. 
She married Henry Jackson in 1928.

Mrs. Jackson was a sewer at Ionia Manufacturing Company, when retiring in  
1960. She was a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary in Sheridan and a 
member of the Mini Howard Club of Ionia.

She lived in the Ionia and Orleans area, before moving to Lansing in  1983.

Surviving are two sons, Donald Jackson of Holton Lake, and William Jackson of 
Hubbardston; two daughters, Marjorie Stanton of Lansing and Jackie Ketchum of 
Ludington; one adopted daughter, Joan Pietila of Spring Lake; 12 grandchildren 
and 15 great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1970; one brother and two sisters.

Funeral services will be at the Hull Memorial Chapel in Muir, Thursday at 2 
p.m. with the Rev. Kendall Harger of the Shiloh Community Church officiating.

Burial will be in the spring in the Easton Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions can be made to the Ionia County Commission on Aging in 
care of the funeral home.
