Mrs. Agnes Nesbitt Jackson, a resident of Ionia city for the past 41 years, died at the residence, 303 Adams street, Sunday morning at 2:30 after an illness lasting only since Christmas night. The cause of death was given as heart trouble and asthma. Though Mrs. Jackson had not been feeling well for a couple of weeks, she was not taken seriously ill until Thursday evening. Mrs. Jackson, who formerly was Miss Agnes Mansfield, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Mansfield, came to Ionia from Marshall when she was about 17 years of age. She attended the Ionia high school. Mrs. Jackson was born in Detroit, and has been a life-long resident of Michigan. Her first husband, Theron Nesbitt, died 14 years ago the fifth day of December. She was united in marriage to Claude Jackson, of Orleans, three years ago December 3. Besides her husband Mrs. Jackson is survived by three children, Mrs. V.A. Wright, of Lansing; Mr. David Reed, of Six Lakes, and Miss Naomi Nesbitt, of Cadillac. She also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Robert Gilby, of Marshfield, Ore., and Mrs. George Ames, of Centralia, Wash. The funeral will be held from the residence 303 Adams street, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Rev. W.K. Spencer will conduct the service. Burial will take place in the family lot at Highland Park cemetery.
