Jackson, 88, passed away Sunday, Aug. 17, 1997, at United Memorial Hospital. He was born Nov. 6, 1908, in Belding to William H. and Nealia Moore Jackson. He retired in 1970 after 23 years at Gibson’s, and also was engaged in farming for many years. He was a member of Shiloh Community Church and a former member of Modern Woodman of America. He was married July 3, 1933, in Grand Rapids to Lucille Sampsell. She survives with their children, Glennis and Gordon Fletcher of Belmont, Janet and Ernest Thomas of Belding, Karen and Eugene Rydahl of Sidney, Pam and Paul Schwallier of Newaygo, Edward and Alice Jackson of Cedar Springs, Howard and July Jackson of Greenville, Ronald and Sherry Jackson of Fenwick; 23 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by twin great-granddaughters, Stacy and Emily Jackson, in infancy. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Home, Belding, with Pastor Kenneth Harger officiating. Interment will be in River Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Shiloh Community Church or the Belding Christian Nursing Home patio fund.
