She was born Apr. 9, 1912 in Shepherd, the daughter of Raymond and Eunice Cottrell Sampsell. She was a member of Shiloh Community church, and a former member of the Rebecca Lodge. She was married on July 3, 1933, in Grand Rapids to Sherman H. Jackson. He preceded her in death on August 17, 1997. Lucille is survived by her children, Glennis and Gordon Fletcher of Belmont, Janet and Ernest Thomas of Belding, Karen and Eugene Rydahl of Sydney, Pam and Paul Schwallier of Newaygo, Edward and Alice Jackson of Cedar Springs, Howard and Judy Jackson of Greenville, Ronald and Sherry Jackson of Fenwick; 23 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Ella May Champlin of Grayling; her brother and sister-in-law, William and Bernice Champlain of Mount Pleasant; her sister and brother-in-law, Retha and Delbert McCambrige of Coral. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherman H. Jackson, her parents; her sisters, Leona Hulse and Lavina Lee; her brothers, Lloyd Sampsell, Richard Champlin, Irvin Champlin; and two great-granddaughters, Emily and Stacy Jackson in infancy. Funeral services are 1 p.m. Friday at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding, with Pastor Ken Harger officiating. Interment is in River Ridge Cemetery. Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Shiloh Community Church or The Belrockton “Restore the Porches” Fund.
