March 8, 2012 Clifford Lewis Jackson, Sr., 88 of Saranac passed away March 6, 2012 in Grand Rapids. He was born Oct. 11, 1923 in Clarksville, the son of Lewis and Etoile (Beebe) Jackson. Cliff married Evelyn McCrodan, Nov. 7, 1942. He served in the United States Army Air Corps in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. Cliff worked for General Motors for 30 years, retiring in 1978. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and was a member of the National Rifle Association. He loved to attend his kids, grandkids and great grandkids sporting events and enjoyed going to his cabin in McMillan. Cliff is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Evelyn Jackson of Saranac; children, Clifford (Shirley) Jackson of Saranac, Barry (Christine) Jackson of Saranac and Brenda (Rob) Griffin of Saranac; grandchildren, Ryan (Lisa) Jackson of Saranac, Penni (Todd) Homan of Alto, Kari (Rick) Dawson of Lowell, Greg (Becky) Griffin of Saranac, Amy (Corey) Broersma of Holland, Kirk (Valerie) Jackson of Texas and Stuart (Shuri) Griffin of Saranac; great-grandchildren, Adam, Kaitlyn, Zachary, Jacob, Kailee, MacKenzie, Brady, Kelsey, Camryn, Mitchell, Emma, Grace, Lauren, Austin, Ben, Braden, Mia, Logan, Kyle and Caylee; and sisters, Thelma Jackson of Lake Odessa and Esther Alspaugh of Eagle. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Claude and Lewis; and sisters, Ruth Raloff and Glenna Haskins. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Saranac Community Church with Pastor Becky Poor officiating. Interment, Saranac Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lake Funeral Home in Saranac and 10 a.m. Friday until time of service at the church.
