Dec. 23, 1973 Claud Jackson Dies in Florida Claud Jackson, 79, passed away suddenly Monday, December 10, at Clearwater, Fla.. He was born on a farm near Clarksville May 4, 1894 and was the son of Joe and Lucy Jackson. Mr. Jackson was a barber in Grand Rapids for several years until moving to Saranac where he continued his trade and resided at his home on route one, Saranac. He was a member of Saranac American Legion Post. Surviving are his wife, Irene, two stepsons, Otto Mix of Grand Rapids and Clyde Mix, Dayton Beach, Fla., and one grandson. Funeral services were held on Thursday at the Morris-Roetman Funeral Home at Saranac. Rev. Ed Mendenhall officiated with burial in Saranac cemetery. Mr. Jackson was a brother of the late Ross Courtney and an uncle of Ivan and Stanley Courtney and was the last survivor of a family of six children.
