He was born August 4, 1924, in Campbell township the son of Bert and Evah Heaven Jackson. He has been a life-long resident of Ionia County and attended Bushnell Rural school. On December 24, 1944, he married June Brooks in Saranac. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War 11, farmed in Ionia County, was a heavy equipment operator for the Ionia County Road Commission, and a member of the Ionia County Sheriff's Posse for 18 years. he was also a member of the Jackson-Mutschler VFW Post. Surviving are his wife; June; five sons; Gene of Clarksville, Robert of Lake Odessa; Stanley in the U.S. Army; Ross in the U.S. Army, and Allan at home; three daughters; Mrs.Martha Barnum and Mrs.Dawn Thole of Clarksville and Mary Beth Jackson at home; parents; Mr and Mrs.Jackson; four brothers Keith of Lake Odessa; Lyle and Roger of Clarksville, and Gary of Westerville, O; one sister; Mrs.Bonietta Reed of Saranac; 13 grandchildren, several nieces and nephew's and cousins. A daughter Cheryl preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held today at 1:30 p.m. at the Clarksville Bible Church with the Rev. Leslie Smith officiating. Burial will be in Saranac cemetery.
