Jackson died at his home near Prairie creek, last evening. He was 73 years old, and has been a resident of Ionia township for 40 years. He had been in poor health for some years, but was critically sick only a few days. He was a brother of Albert E. and Henry. Funeral at residence at 2 p.m. tomorrow. Interment, Highland Park." Per THE IONIA DAILY STANDARD, (MI) Mon., Dec. 11, 1905, page 2: "Nathan S. Jackson was born in Madison county, N.Y., on the 19th of December 1831. In the fall of 1865 he moved to Ionia. He was married to Miss Helen Black in February, 1869. Since coming to Ionia he has resided on the farm where he died on the 8th of Dec. 1905, at the age of 73 years 11 months 19 days. He leaves his widow, Helen Jackson and four nephews: Ray, Chester, Harvey, and Leon Jackson, to mourn his death. They have made their home with him for the last twelve years. He left no children of his own. The funeral service was held at the residence of Chester Jackson, at 2 p.m. on Sunday, and was largely attended by relatives and friends. The service was by Rev. Dr. Cogshall, pastor of the M.E. Church. Interment in Highland Park cemetery."
