He was nearly ninety-one years old and was spry and cheery all his days. He had a loyal Christian nature being a faithful attendant of the church of his choice, the Wesleyan Methodist of West Sebewa. He and his wife have been spending their later years with their son, Comfort Jackson, who lives in this village. The funeral was held at the Calvary U. B. church Tuesday. Rev. Isaac Mourer assisted by the pastor, RE. Lyon, conducted the services. Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Goodemoot and Mrs. David Smith furnished the music. Burial was at Lake Side. David Jackson was born on Ontario, Canada May 30, 1833, and died at his home in Lake Odessa March 22, 1924, at the age of 90 years, 9 months, 22 days. He was the second son of a family of 12 children, four of whom preceded him in death. He came to Michigan in July 1871 and has since lived in Odessa township. He leaves to mourn their loss his wife, three sons, one daughter, four brothers, two sisters, thirteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. He was married to Jane Whitelaw March 1, 1857, thus having lived together for 67 years. He embraced religion and joined the Wesleyan Methodist church many years ago and was faithful to the end of life.
