Karen was born on Jan. 23, 1955. She was a native of Portland and graduated in 1973 from Portland High School. She married Harold Roy Jackson of Sunfield on June 20, 1987. Karen was employed by Independent Bank for 27 years. She was however, most known for service and volunteer works at Easton United Methodist Church and Zion Methodist Church. Karen was the best party planner, but her passion and drive was being a Mary Kay Beauty Consultant and earning her red jacket with her Ionia unit. Karen could also be caught playing Mrs. Clause at many community events. Karen is survived by her husband of 28 years, Harold Roy Jackson and Peanut, her sweet puppy; mother, Betty Sharp of Ionia; siblings, Larry (Penny) Sharp of Ionia, Pat (Phil) Cooper of Buckley, and Kimberly (Paul) Beckwith of Lansing; brother-in-law, Rodney (Brenda) Jackson of Sebewa; and sister-in-law, Jill (Mike) Ulanski of Owosso. She will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and godchildren who will hold her in their hearts forever. She is preceded in death by her father, Donald Sharp of Ionia; father-in-law, Harold M. Jackson of Sunfield; grandparents, Monieta and Judd Rock of Portland, Lewis and Lydia Sharp of Ionia, and Golda Jackson of Sunfield; and loving pets Barney and Bear Jackson. Special thank you to all who spent time visiting, loving and caring for Karen during her short but courageous battle with cancer. Thank you to Ionia Area Hospice for your compassionate care of Karen. Family will be accepting visitors on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2015, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Lakes funeral Home in Ionia. Funeral Services will begin at 1 p.m. immediately following visitation with a luncheon to be held after services at Easton United Methodist Church. Pastor Nancy Patera, Presiding.
