In passing over a board on the top of the machine the board broke and the young man plunged into the teeth of the machine. His legs were torn and one hand, while one of the teeth pierced his side and was the cause of his death. He was rushed to Blodgett hospital by G. A. Weed, of this village, where one leg was amputated and a portion of one hand. On Sunday afternoon he died with his mother at his bedside. All means were used to locate his father who had gone to the northern woods hunting but without success. The funeral was postponed until Thursday morning on this account. It was held at the home near Clarksville and the body will be placed in the vault at Clarksville to await the father’s return. The family are cousins of the Jacksons of Lake Odessa vicinity. An uncle, Bert Jackson, gave blood for a transfusion, but this apparently did little good.
