Jackson, of Keene, father of Lawyer Albert Jackson, passed gently over the dark river, Wednesday morning, March 7th. His disease was a complication of affections of the heart and kidneys. During the last ten days he took no nourishment. Mr. Jackson was born in Canada in 1820. In 1855 he came to Keene and purchased the farm upon which he died, carving a home in the almost wilderness, and by diligence and economy acquired a competence. He was for many years a consistent member of the Methodist church of this place and will be buried from the church Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock. He leaves many relatives and warm friends who will always remember him as a man of sterling character, a good neighbor, and a most loving and patient man in his family.
