He was born April 19, 1866 in Peoria, Ill., and moved to Michigan when he was a young man. He lived in Lowell where he met and married the former Mattie Fletcher of that town. In 1915 and 1916 he owned and managed the old Family theater in Ionia. While he was here he lived on West Main street in the house now owned by Clarence Dolphin. He sold out his interest and began work for a baby carriage factory in Lowell, a branch of the Ionia Ypsilanti Reed factory in 1918. The plant was later moved to Ionia in 1924 and he worked here until 1927 when he returned to Lowell. Surviving him are his wife, Matie; one son, Robert Frederick Jacobi, presumably of Grand Rapids; and several grandchildren. Funeral services will be held from the Roth funeral home in Lowell on Sunday.
