Jacobs, 32, World war veteran and former Ionia resident Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock from the residence of his sister, Mrs. Victor Hedstrom, East Main street. Rev. Paul L. Stewart, pastor of the Church of Christ, will officiate and the remains will be interred in the family lot in Highland Park cemetery. Military honors will be conferred by members of Company H. Michigan National Guard, in uniform. The members are requested to assemble at the armory at 2 o’clock, while buglers and those of the firing squad are asked to report at once to Sergeant Reiser at 518 State street. It is expected the remains will arrive in Ionia early Saturday from Grandville, where they had been interred prior to notice of the death reaching his mother, Mrs. Margaret Jacobs, here Thursday. Immediate steps were taken to have the body exhumed and brought here for burial. Jerry Jacobs spent his boyhood hears in Ionia and obtained his education in local schools. In more recent years he traveled about the country promoting theatrical enterprises, but managed to pay visits to his home quite frequently. He was affiliated with the Ionia Elks’ lodge for many years, and still maintained his membership here at his death. His mother and sister are the sole survivors.
