Valentine Jacoby, one of the aged and highly respected pioneers of this town, died Thursday of paralysis. He was born in Germany in 1818 and came to Ohio in 1850 and lived there seven years, then came here and lived with his brother two years and then was married and bought the farm which he still owns. His wife and four children survive him and were all but one here to attend the funeral. Miss Kate was in Colorado and unable to attend. For eighteen years Mr. Jacoby has been troubled more or less with bladder troubles. The funeral services were held from the Catholic church, Rev. J.T. Muer officiating.
