The death of Elias S. Jacott occurred at the home of his son, John Jacott, at 
1:30 o’clock last Friday afternoon, following an illness from ailments 
incident to old age.  He was 81 years old at the time of his death.  Mr. 
Jacott had been residing in Portland for the past year, making his home with 
his son.  The remains were taken to his former home at Greenville, for 
burial.  He was one of that city’s earliest pioneers.  Besides the son at 
whose home his death occurred he is survived by three other children, J. C. 
Jacott, of Greenville; Mrs. Mary Ferguson, of Ann Arbor and Mrs. Nina Hicks, 
of Portland.
