Jim was born Oct. 2, 1946, in Reed City, the son of Orval and Bette L. Barrett Jagger. Jim graduated from Belding High School in 1965 and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, stationed in Germany. He was a member of Belding American Legion Post 203, the Belding Sportsman Club, Belding Masonic Lodge No. 355 F&AM and the Pentwater Sportfishing Association. He served on the Belding Board of Education for a number of years and the Board of Deacons of First Congregational Church, Belding. His favorite pastime was fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents. Jim is survived by his two daughters, Leslie Jagger and David VanderMeulen of Ashland, Wis., Callie Jagger of Belding; their mother, Toni Jagger of Belding; brother, Bill Jagger of Pawleys Island, S.C.; sister, Barbara and Martin Reichard of Celina, Ohio; niece, Katie Jagger; and nephews, Chad and Cody Reichard; his long-time companion, Suzanne Jackson of Lowell; her daughters, Amy and David Pavlik of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, Jennifer Cooper of Lowell, Emily and Rick Smith of Vadnais Heights, Minn., Sarah and Greg Adams of Shakopee, Minn.; and his grandchildren, Noah, Carly and Megan. Funeral services are 1 p.m. Saturday at First Congregational Church, Belding, with Pastor Byron Davey officiating. Following the service, cremation will take place and interment will be in Rest Haven Memory Gardens. Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alvah N. Belding Library Building Fund.
