She passed away peacefully with her children at her side after complications due to heart surgery. Her last ask was to "just have fun" with her kids in her remaining time. Martha was a devoted mother who loved to travel-from the isles of Scotland to the coasts of Spain to the shorelines of Lake Michigan.She enjoyed gardening, crosswords, knitting, playing cards and games, cuddling with her dog, and laughing with her grandson. She deeply cherished the time she spent with her kids and close friends all of whom she loved fiercely and without reserve. She was born on July 5, 1950, in Ionia to Ellen and Alex Sibley. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in French from Michigan State University, Martha traveled in Europe extensively doing au pair work until returning to the States to be closer to family.She met her future spouse,Mike, at the Lansing Community Hospital in 1976, where she was working while earning her registered nursing degree at Lansing Community College.Martha and Mike were married in Ionia on May 27, 1983, and moved to Weidman followed by Mount Pleasant shortly after. there Martha worked as a pediatric RN at Central Michigan Community Hospital until Casey was two years old, at which time she decided to switch careers to become a stay-at-home mom. Once her kids grew up, she worked a variety of jobs including as a census taker and at a plant nursery until retiring from her job as a receptionist at Boge, Wyenga & Bradley in 2014. She's survived by three ever-loving kids, Elise (Clay Cornwell) Jajuga, Casey Jajuga, Leigh (Peter McKenna) Jajuga; adoring grandson Maxwell Michael McKenna; her impish lap hound Magnus; sisters Kathleen (Benjamin) Akers and Susan (Raymond) Chase; and in-laws Andrew and Denise Jajuga, JoAnne (Jajuga) and Michael Chelenyak, and Hank and Judy Jajuga. She was preceded in death by her husband Michael Jajuga; her parents,Alexander and Ellen (Gould) Sibley; her brother Andy Sibley;; her mother-in-law Blanche (Halso) Jajuga; and in-laws Mary (Jajuga) Perras and George Jajuga. A Memorial service for Martha will be held at 11 AM on Friday, May 19, at Charles R.Lux Family Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, May 18, from 4-7:00 PM. Visitation continues Friday one hour prior to service. All are invited to Lincoln reception Center (attached to the funeral home) for a meal immediately following the service.Martha will be interred in the Bloomfield Township Cemetery following the meal.
