E. Francisco were instantly killed while attempting to cross the Grand Trunk railroad track in Mr. Jakeway's automobile. The collision occurred at 7:47 a.m. on a private crossing on the road near the stock yards and was witnessed by John Youngs of Lowell and the crew of a freight train standing there waiting for the flyer to pass. The automobile was smashed into fragments and the car and men were carried some distance, both men being very badly cut up. The front end of the locomotive was also badly disfigured and put out of commission. Mr. Jakeway was a prominent business man of that city and his father-in-law Mr. Francisco, resided with him. The latter is well-known here, being the father Waldo Francisco, a former mayor of this city and also the father of Mrs. Chas. Krum. Mr. Francisco has conducted a boat livery at Wabasis Lake for the past two or three years and was making arrangements to spend the winter at Zephyr Hills, Florida, with his son. He and Mr. Jakeway were excellent citizens and their tragic death was a shock to their many friends and business associates.
