Ionia Shopper's Guide - Saturday April 20, 2024

              JAMES

Jean (Wrisley)James of Leeburg, FL, formerly of Ionia,MI & Belding, MI, passed 
away suddenly on April 14, 2024. Jean was born on March 11, 1952 to Merwin & 
Lorraine (Helmer) Wrisley. She would help anyone she could whether she knew you 
or not.She enjoyed bingo, bowling, thrift shopping and working the nursery at 
the Morrison United Methodist Church in Leesburg. She was also a huge Elvis 
fan.She enjoyed the trips she took with her daughter that included taking a 
cruise going to Graceland & Nashville.She enjoyed the family Christmases at 
Bertha Brock Park every year as well, along with the dice game they played there 
and the family reunions in the summers.

In July of 1973, she married Philip James and had 1 daughter. They were married 
until his sudden death in 1977. In 1979 she married James Fox and they were 
married until 1986. The real loves of her life were her grandchildren.She went 
on to live life on her own terms & moved to Leesburg, Fl in 2020.She wasn't one 
to change her mind once she had it made up.

She's preceded in death by her parents, step-father,Ross Cox Sr., brother, 
Merwin Wrisley, Jr.(aka Warren, Wris or Pink), both husbands and several aunts 
and uncles.

Surviving her are her daughter, Beth(Fred)Moore, grandchildren,Jason Schwab & 
Melany Schwab and a great-granddaughter to arrive in July 2024. Also surviving 
are her brother Ross Cox,Jr.(Cynthia),nephew Eric, great nephews,Adrien & 
Ezekiel, uncle,Maynard(Barb) Helmer, aunt,Nancy Helmer, aunt,Joy Helmer, 
aunt,Mary Helmer, aunt,Francis Helmer and many cousins.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at 2-4pm & 6-8pm. Service will be 
Thursday, April 25, 2024 at 11:00 am with a final visitation 1 hour prior to the 
service at the Lehman Funeral Home, 220 Rich Street,Ionia. Cremation will take 
place after the service and interment will be Friday, April 26, 2024 in Orleans 
Cemetery next to her father as she wished. 

A luncheon will follow after the service on Thursday with the details being 
announced at the service.The family is requesting that flowers not be sent.It 
was Jean's wish that donations be made to The Cancer Society to honor a friend
