Jameson was a young man and was appointed postmaster of the new town of Lake Odessa under Harrison. He resigned in two years because he had come to be a chronic drunkard. The blow nearly killed his parents, who afterwards moved to Grand Rapids. His body was brought to Odessa last week for burial.
