Dildine was born in Chemung County, N. Y., July 1, 1842, died at her home in Grand Rapids, Mich., July 9, 1920. When one year of age her parents moved to Easton, Ionia County, where her girlhood days were spent. November 28, 1867, she married Geo. W. Conner. To them were born two children, Cornie E., who passed away Aug. 27, 1897, and a son Claud M., of Grand Rapids. Those left to mourn her departure are husband, son, one sister, Mrs. DeLong of Grand Rapids, one brother, James Dildine of Easton, and a host of friends. To know her was to love her. Our loss is her gain. She was always frail in health but always ready to do a kindness whenever she had the opportunity. She loved her home, mingled very little in society for many years owing to poor health but gave all a hearty welcome who came to see her. She was an everyday Christian as her life testifies. Her last illness dated back for more than a year from which she has suffered much, was submissive and patient during all her illness, nothing seemed to move her from that kind sweet sprit of doing for others when writing with pain, would remark, “there are so many so much worse off than I and I will do the very best I can.”: The last week of her life was one of intense suffering. Tuesday at 7 p.m. she suffered a stroke of her left side and tongue. About the same time Wednesday she suffered another of the right side. These strokes came in the form of a terrible cramping, writhing of the body; from that time she never spoke or moved but settled into a deep sleep from which she lay 48 hours to awake with her Savior and dear ones in Heaven. CARD OF THANKS: We desire through the columns of the Banner-News to extend our sincere thanks to all the friends for their kindness, assistance and sympathy given through our recent bereavement, the death of our dear wife, mother and sister and especially for the many flowers, the Orleans choir and to Rev. E. E. Branch for his comforting words. George W. Connor Claude Connor and Wife Mrs. J. B.
