Lake Odessa Wave - April 1938


Mrs. Madora Janes, 73 years of age, passed away at her home here Monday after 
several years of invalidism, being unable to get about on account of a broken 
hip, broken 17 years ago.

She was born January 7, 1865 in Ohio. Her husband Milton Janes is employed in 
Grand Rapids where they lived before coming to Lake Odessa. Besides the husband 
she is survived by a granddaughter Mrs. Harry Janes and four stepsons, George 
Janes of Grand Ledge, Emmerson and Herman Janes of Grand Rapids and Harry Janes 
of Lake Odessa, and three other grandchildren.

The funeral was held Wednesday at the Methodist church where she was a member. 
Rev. Leon Manning officiated with Rev. R. L. Broadway of Metamora giving the 
prayer and singing by request. 

Burial was at Lakeside cemetery at Lake Odessa.
