Robert L. Janes, of Ionia, age 77, loving husband, father and grandfather, 
passed away on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009,

He was born on Sept. 24, 1932 in Ionia the son of Floyd and Marie Anna (Reeder) 
Janes. Mr. Janes was a member of LeValley United Methodist Church and was a 
Veteran of Korea serving in the United States Army. He farmed his entire life 
and was active in the farming community.

He married Margaret Linebaugh on July 7, 1956 and she survives him. Also 
surviving are his 3 children, Lynn (Brad) Rogers of Richfield, N.C., Gail 
(Mark) Braun of Ionia, and Marc (Carrie) Janes of Oregon, Wis.; 7 
grandchildren, Neal (Yifat) Rogers, Erin Rogers, Jacob, Luke and Kerry Braun, 
and Emily and Ben Janes; sister, Marilyn Lally of Grand Rapids; brother, David 
Janes of Minnesota and several nieces, nephews and great-nieces-and –nephews. 

A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 28, 2009 at LeValley 
United Methodist Church with Pastor Den Slattery, officiating. The family will 
receive friends on Monday at the church from 10-11 a.m. For those desiring, 
memorial contributions may be made to the LeValley United Methodist Church, in 
memory of Mr. Robert L. Janes. Arrangements are entrusted to the Schuraben-
