MARGARET JANES 1935-2017
Mrs. Margaret Louise Janes, 82 of Ionia Township passed away Friday Aug. 4, 
2017.

She was born July 13, 1935 in Portland, Michigan the daughter of Webster and 
Florence (Cowles) Linebaugh. She was a graduate of Portland High School and 
Michigan State University.

Mrs. Janes was married to Robert Janes on July 7, 1956 and lived most of her 
life on a family farm in Ionia Township, devoting her life to her family, her 
church, her friends, her community and mentoring 4-H youth. She taught school in 
Sheridan for a few years before returning to farm life full time.

She is survived by her three children, Lynn (Brad) Rogers of Richfield, NC, Gail 
(Mark) Braun of Ionia, MI and Marc (Carrie) Janes of Oregon, WI; seven 
grandchildren; Neal, Erin, Jacob, Luke, Emily, Kerry and Ben and two great-
grandchildren; Ilan and Ila. She is also survived by four sisters and one 
brother as well as many nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by her husband, Robert and her parents.

Celebration of life services will be held Tuesday Aug. 8, 2017 at 12 p.m. noon 
at LeValley United Methodist Church with the Reverend Nancy Patera officiating. 
Visitation will preceded the service from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. 
memorial contributions may be made to LeValley United Methodist church or Ionia 
County 4-H Service Club in memory of Margaret. Arrangements are with Lehman 
Funeral Home, 220 Rich St., Ionia. Online condolences may be made at
