Surviving are four sons, George of Grand Ledge, David and John of Grand Rapids and Harry E. in Lake Odessa, and five grandchildren. Burial was in Lakeside cemetery. Mr. Janes maintained a home here for about 25 years, and upon the death of his wife a few years ago went to make his home with the son in Grand Rapids. Harry Janes, who left Friday morning to visit his son, Sgt. Milton Janes at New Brunswick, N.J., did not learn of his father's death until reaching his destination. Through efforts of the American Red Cross, Sergeant Janes had been notified of his grandfather's death and he accompanied his father home on a 12-day emergency furlough.
