The Lake Odessa Wave, Thursday, April 21, 1938
Mrs. Madora Janes, 73 years of age, passed away at her home here Monday after 
several years of invalidism, being unable to get about on account of a broken 
hip, broken 17 years ago.  She was born January 7, 1865 in Ohio.  Her husband 
Milton Janes is employed in Grand Rapids where they lived before coming to 
Lake Odessa.  Besides the husband she is survived by a granddaughter Mrs. 
Harry Janes and four stepsons, George Janes of Grand Ledge, Emerson and Herman 
of Grand Rapids and Harry Janes of Lake Odessa, and three other grandchildren.

The funeral was held Wednesday at the Methodist church where she was a 
member.  Rev. Leon Manning officiated with Rev. R. L. Boadway of Metamora 
giving the prayer and singing by request.  Burial was at Lakeside cemetery at 
Lake Odessa.
