E Jarvis dies at Home Sunday NIght George Edward Jarvis, 61, died at his home here Sunday evening after a prolonged illness. He served in the army in World War I, having enlisted July 22, 1918. He was honorable discharged on Feb. 4, 1919. Funeral services were held at St.Patrick's Church Wednesday morning, Rev. Fr. Louis Flohe officiating. The Rosary was recited Monday evening. Burial was in Portland cemetery. Funeral arrangement were in charge of the Neller Funeral Home. Survivors of Deceased Surviving the deceased are the wife, Mary Elizabeth; daughter, Mrs. Mary Green; two grand-children; three brothers, Fred Jarvis; John Jarvis, Cheboygan; and Arthur Jarvis, Lansing. Mr. Jarvis was a former barber in Portland. At one time he and a sister ran a restaurant here. He also formerly managed the Portland baseball team. Mr. Jarvis was a member of the Portland American Legion Post No. 129. Bearers: Clarence Barnes, Frank Day, Sr., J. H.Owen, Ben Sykes, Sr. George Allen Shay and Harry Hall.
