Jay was held at the Bradley funeral home, followed by a church service at the Methodist Episcopal church at 3 o’clock, with Rev. M. W. Duffey officiating. Organ music was played by Mrs. Lillian Ashdown Jennings. Flowers were in charge of Mrs. William Pearce, Mrs. Fred Boardman, Mrs. Hiram Darling and Mrs. Bert Underwood. Bearers for the services were members of his Sunday school class of the Methodist church, they were: John Toutenhoofd, Floyd Macklem, Elwood Brake, Harry Drake, A. G. Eddy and Viggo Nielsen. Relatives from away attending the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Adelbert Kinyon, of South Bend, Ind.; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hinkle, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hinkle, and Richard Hinkle, of Frontier, Mr. and Mrs. Gayle Kirby, of Sturgis; Mr. and Mrs. Herman Killon and daughter, Joyce, of Big Rapids; Mr. and Mrs. Columbus Jay, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Burt, and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Briggs, of Lowell; Jay Hulliberger, of Flint; Mr. and Mrs. Bert Anway, Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Hulliberger, Mr. and Mrs. August Penner, of Lansing; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Anway, Mrs. Nora Hulliberger and daughter, Iva, of Grand Rapids; Mrs. Walter DeWeese of Lima, Ohio; Mr. and Mrs. Archie Campbell and Mr. and Mrs. Ninz Campbell, of Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. George Disbrow, of Remus.
