Jean, 74, of 1007 James, Portland, died Tuesday at Henry Ford hospital in Detroit. He was born November 4, 1896, at Bay City and was in the restaurant and bakery business in East Lansing and Lansing from 1930 to 1952. In 1952 he moved to Portland and opened Jean’s restaurant retiring in 1964. Surviving besides is wife, Adah of Portland, are two sons, Ronald and Harold of Lansing; two daughters, Mrs. Madaline Jones of Haslett and Mrs. Catherine Kieselbach of Mason; 15 grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three brothers, Frank Jean of Clearwater, Fla., and Teniose and Maurice Jean of Lansing; three sisters, Mrs. Winifred Garver, Mrs. Florence Wolf and Mrs. Amelia Lewis all of Lansing. Funeral services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. at Neller funeral home in Portland, Interment will be at Evergreen cemetery, Lansing.
