H. Jeffers, 85, one of the real pioneers of Palo, passed away Tuesday, March 31, after an illness from pneumonia. Mrs. Jeffers who was the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Hollywood, came here with her parents when a child and in young womanhood was married to Ira Jeffers, a popular young business man. Two children blessed their union, a daughter, Ada, Mrs. Fred Minier, and a son, Albert, who has been the comfort of his mother since the death of his father several years ago. two grandchildren also survive. Funeral services conducted by Rev. Lewis Herrick, assisted by Rev. W. D. Robinson were held at the Methodist church of which she was a charter member, Friday afternoon and burial was in the Palo cemetery.
