Aug. 30, 1965 Rev. James Kendall of First Christian church will officiate at the funeral service Tuesday for Charles W. Jeffery, 69, who died late Saturday evening at his home, 540 Nicholson Street. Service will be at Myers Funeral home at 2 p.m., followed by interment at Sunset Memorial Garden Shrines. Mr. Jeffery was employed by C&O Railroad until his retirement in 1951. He was born in Howell, March 6, 1896, so of John and Henrietta Jeffery. In 1915 he was married to Celia Adgate of Saranac and spent all their married life in Ionia. Mr. Jeffery served with the armed forces during World War I. Surviving are his wife and three sons, Dale Jeffery of Kalamazoo, Harold and Clarence of Ionia; two brothers, John Jeffery of Grand Rapids and Tom of Saranac; six sisters, Mrs. Mary Green of Portland, Mrs. Ruth Sattler of Middleton, Mrs. Hattie Hoag of Alto, Mrs. Margaret Graham and Helen Jeffery of Lowell and Mrs. Mae Fawley of Clarksville. Mr. Jeffery was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Jeanette and a brother, Leslie who died August 26, 1965.
