He lived on Bricker road near Long Lake in Orleans township. Born June 16, 1892 in Evergreen township, Montcalm county he had been a resident of Orleans township the past three years, and previously lived in the Lyons-Muir and Fenwick areas. He was a World War I veteran and had been a farmer all his life. He was married in 1925 to Millie Badder, who survives him. Other survivors are five daughters, Mrs. Albert Goodsel of Fenwick, Mrs. George Addis of Sheridan, Mrs. Charles Holliday and Mrs. Calvin Lafferty of Belding, and Miss Alberta Jeffery, at home; five sons, Martin and Fred Jeffery of Belding, John, Elbert and Philip at home; 22 grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Nellie Reese of Lansing and two brothers Claude of Midland and Fred of Sheridan. Service will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Stebbins funeral home in Sheridan with burial in Sunny Hill cemetery near Palo.
