Oct. 10, 2018 TERRY ALLEN JEFFERY, 69 Terry Allen Jeffery aged 69 of Saranac passed away October 5, 2018 surrounded by his beloved family. He was born June 3, 1949 in Ionia, Michigan the son of Harold, J. and Minnie (Thayer) Jeffery. Terry entered the Military in 1969 where he served in the Marine Corp as a Corporal, earning several medals. After returning home from the service he worked for Reisbig Redi-Mix and later worked at Ionia Public Schools as a Bus Mechanic until retiring in 2005. He married Jeanne June 12, 1999 in Ionia. Terry was a life member of the Ionia VFW post 3732 where he was Post Commander and Treasurer. He enjoyed spending the winter with his wife Jeanne in Texas where they made many friends. He was a very avid deer hunter and loved being in the woods. He spent many seasons working as a skinner for Slater's Deer Processing. In his early years, he loved fishing and enjoyed going to bass tournaments and enjoyed league bowling. He was always a busy-body and hated to sit still. Even after retirement, he was still sub-driving for the school and doing cement work and was always on the go. He was well-known in the Ionia community and will be deeply missed by many. Surviving are his loving wife of 19 years, Jeanne Jeffery of Saranac, Children; Daniel (Brenda) Jeffery of Wyoming, MI. Kristie Jeffery-Bills of Ionia. Step-children; Julie Darling-Darnell of Saranac, Steven (Sheila) Darling of Saranac and Jeffrey (Tracy) Darling of Lowell. Grandchildren; Jada,Kamryn, Melody, Brenton, Victoria, Larissa, Shiri, Christopher, Matthew, Chase and Sydney. Great-grandchildren Zoey, Sterling and Remington, Sisters; Gwen Reisbig-Hoppough of Ionia, Linda Reisbig of Ionia, Carmen (Jim) Schodowski of Ionia and Jacqueline (Ed) Ingvartsen of Ionia. Several Aunts, Uncles, Nieces,Nephews and Cousins,. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers-in-law Robert James Reisbig I and David Hoppough. There will be a Memorial Visitation with Military Honors on Wednesday, October, 10, 2018 from 4-7 p.m. at the Lake Funeral home in Ionia.
