The Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, Wednesday, April 30, 1952

William J. Jeffrey, 78, died suddenly Tuesday, April 29, at 1 p.m. at the farm 
home of his nephew, Victor Jeffrey, and family in North Plains township.  He 
had made his home with the nephew since November, 1951.

He was born in Ohio August 30, 1973, son of William and Emily Jeffrey.  He 
moved to Montcalm county when four years of age.  In May, 1915, he was married 
to Flora Smith.  They moved to Ronald township where they lived until 1943 
when they went to Bushnell township to live until 1951.  In July, 1951, they 
came to Ionia to live.  She died here August 28, 1951.

Surviving are a son, Lester, of Chicago; three grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. 
Nellie Reese, Lansing; and two brothers, Guy of Fenwick and Claude of Midland.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Boynton funeral home.  The 
Rev. H. S. Ellis will officiate.  Interment will be in the family lot in 
Woodard Lake cemetery.

Services for William Jeffrey, 78, who died at the home of his nephew Tuesday 
in North Plains township were held at the Boynton funeral home Saturday 
afternoon, May 3.  The Rev. H. S. Ellis of Belding was the officiating 
minister.  Burial was in Woodard Lake cemetery.  Bearers were Victor, Guy, 
Donald, William and Fred Jeffrey and Albert Hopkins.

Among the relatives attending the services from away were Mr. and Mrs. Lester 
Jeffrey, Lester Jeffrey, Jr., and Miss Betty Jeffrey of Oak Park, Ill.; Mr. 
and Mrs. Guy Jeffrey and Mr. and Mrs. Howard Ross of Fenwick; Mr. and Mrs. 
Claude Jeffrey of Midland; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Jeffrey of Sidney; Mr. and Mrs. 
Guy Jeffrey of Sheridan; Mr. and Mrs. William Jeffrey, Mr. and Mrs. Donald 
Jeffrey and Mr. and Mrs. George Rich of Belding; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Hopkins 
of Orleans; Mr. and Mrs. Martin Filkins, Mr. and Mrs. Albertson Root and Mr. 
and Mrs. Ernest Claycomb of Greenville; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Reese and Mr. and 
Mrs. Bert House of Lansing; Mrs. Lou Jeffrey and Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Jeffrey 
of Mt. Pleasant; Mr. and Mrs. James Klingsmith of Edmore; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd 
Cogswell of Lakeview; and Jack Wilson of Barryton.
