    John D. Jenkins III

Died May 28, 2025-age 81 of Portland
Born August 23, 1943 in Flint, MI to John"Jack" & Donna (Yeomans) Jenkins.
John enjoyed gardening, camping, fishing, hunting, trapping, attending bluegrass 
music festivals, playing music with friends  & traveling with his sweetheart, 
Marilyn.Together they visited all 50 states.
John worked 7 years in retail grocery, advancing from clerk to manager.
He then  spent thirty-one years in building trades as a carpenter, millwright, 
licensed builder, & inspector.
Additionally, he owned a party tent rental business & served as past president 
of the Building Officials Conference of Michigan.
John was a U.S. Army paratrooper.
Survived by his friend & life partner Marilyn(Huhn) Selden, his children,John 
(Tina), Terri (Charley), Tracy (Kelly), Jina (Cory), Jason (Jackie), 
stepchildren Eric, Cheri, Jessica (Jeff) 24 grandchildren, 25 great-
grandchildren & 10 siblings.
Funeral service will be  held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, June 2, 2025 at Lehman 
Funeral Home, 210 E.Bridge St.,Portland,MI
