The Ionia Sentinel-Standard, Tuesday, April 29, 1952


Funeral services are to be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Neller funeral home 
in Portland for S. S. Jenkins, 62, superintendent of the Portland waterworks 
and diesel hydro-generating plant, who died suddenly Sunday night.  Burial 
will be at the Portland cemetery.

Mr. Jenkins at one time operated a machinery shop in Portland and had been an 
employee of the village of Portland for the past 22 years.  He was a member of 
the Masonic lodge and of the Dale Hyland Post, No. 129 of the American Legion. 

Surviving are his wife Florence and a sister, Mrs. Grace Bates of Portland.
