Earle Cornelius Jenks, 63, of Flint Township died Friday, June 28, 2002 at 
Hurley Medical Center.

Funeral services were on Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 
8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, with Pastor Robert Dickie officiating.  Burial 
was in Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris.  Visitation was held on Sunday at the 
funeral home.

Earle was born Oct. 25, 1938 in Ionia, the son of Fred and Myrtie (Luce) 
Jenks.  He had resided in Flint the past 40 years, coming from Ionia.  He 
married Marjorie Nora Miller Aug. 5, 1985 in Flint.  He retired from Swartz 
Creek Community Schools with 35 years of service as band director.  He was a 
1960 graduate of Michigan State University and was a member of the Michigan 
State Band Alumni.

Surviving are wife, Marjorie; eight children, Amy (Michael) Carlson of Grand 
Rapids, Jill (Brett) Mitchell of Flushing, Matthew (Suzanne) of Grand Rapids; 
Chantel (Jerry) Jazowski of Warren, Richard (Karen) Green of Flushing, Brandon 
(Jennifer) Green of Flushing, Elizabeth Verguson of Lyons and Jennifer Burkett 
(Gene Koelsch) of Lyons; and 13 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Georgiabelle Sherd; and 
the mother of his children, Carol.
