The telegram was placed in the hands of undertaker Ben Friedly, who replied and asked that the remains be forwarded here at once. Grover Jenks is the son of the late Silas Jenks, aged about 24 years and a nephew of A.A. Jenks of Fairplains, he worked for George Ravell five years leaving there about four years ago for the west. He was a fine young man, unmarried, steady and prosperous, and owned a farm in Fairplains. At this writing it is not known whether he was a workman for the railroad company or a passenger on the train, as no particulars of his death had been received. It is expected the body will arrive this week. The avalanche was the most terrible in its destruction of property and lives ever known in history. In some places cars were buried under 70 feet of snow, trees and rocks, as the trains rolled down into the gorge hundreds of feet below the track.
