Mr. Jenks was born June 17 in Gratiot county, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Jenks and later came to Lyons with his parents and had lived here about 60 years. He was a farmer and also in later years had been employed at the Ionia Manufacturing Co., until retiring a few years ago. Mr. Jenks died suddenly at his home on Baldwin street, Lyons, Thursday of a heart attack and was found about noon by his sister, Mrs. Harry Maus, who lives across the street. Mr. Elmer Ubbink, pastor of the Lyons Baptist church officiated. The Girard – Horrocks American Legion Post No.265 of Ionia, assisted in the ceremony. Mr. Jenks was a World War I veteran and a member of the post. Bearers were Kenneth Maus, Chester Gladding, Robert Maus, Gary McQuillan, Jack Gladding and Royal Soules. Friends were present from Grand Rapids, Saranac, Belding, Orleans, Lyons and Muir. Burial was in the Lyons cemetery.
