He was born in Montcalm county, Fairplains township, October 5, 1898 the son of Earl and Ella Loveless Jenks. December 28, 1921 he was married to Myrtie M. Luce. he was a finisher at A.O. Smith and its predecessors, retiring in 1965 and a member of First Christian church and the Modern Woodman. He was a musician playing the trombone in old Ionia city band under the direction of Earl Silver. For 38 years he played in various bands in the area. Surviving are his wife Myrtie; one daughter Mrs. Gerald Sherd of Sheridan and a son, Earle C. of Flint four grandchildren; two sisters Mrs. Reuby Hoy of Ionia and Mrs. Willard Baird of Stanwood. Mr. Jenks will be at Stone-Kauffman funeral home until noon Saturday when he will be taken to First Christian church for services at 2 pm with Rev. Theodore Forbes officiating. Interment will be at Balcom cemetery.
