Lloyd Elliot Jenks, age 74, of Saranac, passed away October 4, 2014 in 
Saranac.  He was born February 10, 1940 in Boston Twp., Michigan the son of 
Elbert and Elmira (Blow) Jenks. 

He graduated from Saranac High School class of 1958.  Lloyd married Donna 
Berndt January 11, 1964 in Saranac.  He loved farming, gardening, hunting, 
fishing, Ionia Free Fair, Saranac Football and MSU sports.  He also was a 
member of the Sheriff’s Posse. 

Lloyd is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Donna Jenks of Saranac; 
children, Darin (Carrie) Jenks of Ionia and Lacey Jenks and fiancé Paul Young 
of Saranac; brother, Larry (Sharon) Jenks of Jenison; sister, Ardist Ferris of 
Lyons; sister and brother in laws, Judy and Doug VanBennekom of Saranac, Roxie 
and Leonard Kirby of St. Cloud and Sally Bendt of Lansing and one grandson 
Brent Michael Jenks.  He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother, 
sister, Ann Chambers, nephew, Nick Jenks and brother in law Duane Ferris. 

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, October 9, at Lake Funeral 
Home in Ionia with Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating.  Interment Pinckney 
Cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at lake Funeral Home 
in Ionia.  Memorial contributions may be made to Ionia Hospice or 4-H Large 
Animal Sale Committee.
