                                MYRTIE M. JENKS

SHERIDAN- Myrtie M. Jenks 87, of 416 Haynor Road, Ionia died Thursday at Carson 
City Hospital.

She was born Dec.27, 1902, in Ronald township, the daughter of Cornelius T.and 
Olive Grinnell Luce.

She was married to Fred E. Jenks on Dec. 28, 1921. He preceded her in death on 
May 22, 1969.

Also preceding her in death were a brother, Hollis Luce who died Jan.23,1990; 
two sisters, Hester Orvis, in 1959, and Helen Luce, in 1907, and one son, 
Maynard Jenks in 1924. 

Surviving are a daughter mrs.Gerald (Georgiabelle) Sherd of Sheridan; one son, 
Earl C. Jenks of Flint; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, 
Hazel Messine of Leslie; and a sister-in-law, Grace Beard of Stanwood.

She was a longtime resident of Ionia, and a member of the First Christian Church 
of Ionia for more than 50 years. She was also a member of the South Ionia 
Friendship Club, and active in Ionia Senior Citizens.

The family will be at Stebbins and Simpson Funeral Home, Sheridan, Sunday from 7 
to 8:30 p.m.

Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. from the funeral home, the Rev.Jack 
Gladding officiating.

Burial will be in Balcom Cemetery in Ionia.

A memorial as been established for First Christian Church of Ionia, in care of 
the funeral home.
