Lowell Ledger, 16 Feb 1899

Hattie Beattie, beloved wife of Edson A. Jepson, was born in Keene, Mich., 
Sept. 29, 1860, and died Jan. 2, 1899, aged 38 years.  The deceased was the 
fourth child of James and Dressila Beattie.  She lived on the farm where she 
was born until Nov. 19, 1879, when she was united in marriage with Edson Jepson 
and settled in Easton, Mich., where they lived for about six years and then 
moved to their present home one-half mile north of Saranac.  To this union, 
eight children were born, two of them dying in infancy.  The funeral was 
conducted by Rev. L.B. Kenyon assisted by Rev. W. Earle.
