Mildred J. Jepson, age 88, of Ionia, passed away Feb. 8, 2009 in Ionia.  She 
was born July 11, 1920 in Lakeview the daughter of Harley and Avis (Bishop) 
Friend.  Mildred married Edsel Haney who preceded her in death.  She then 
married Dale K. Jepson who also preceded her in death.  She loved her country 
and had a great interest in politics.

Mildred is survived by her daughters, Amanda (Jerry) McConnell of Harrison, 
Virginia (John) Whitham of Saranac an Nancy (Wayne) Alexander of Ionia; 
grandchildren, Mark McConnell, Brenda Ritter, Elizabeth Whitham, Daniel 
Whitham, Alison Taylor, Leigh Flagel and Joel VanHarn; 2 great-grandchildren 
and 2 great-great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by her parents and 
daughter Daleann Wickerink.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, 11 a.m. at Lake Funeral Home in 
Ionia with Pastor Cliff Allen officiating.  The family will receive friends 
and relatives 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.  Anyone 
wishing may make memorial contributions in Mildred’s name to American Cancer 
Society or Ionia Commission on Aging.  Interment Saranac Cemetery.
