The body of Henry Jersey, who died at his home at Lansing on Sunday was brought
to this city and buried in the Jersey family lot in River Ridge cemetery on
Wednesday afternoon, following funeral services which were held in Lansing at 2
o’clock.  Mr. Jersey was 91 years of age at the time of his death.  He suffered
a stroke on May 5th and had since been nursed and cared for by his daughter,
Mrs. George Angell of Lansing and his son, Arthur Jersey of Angola, Indiana. 
Mr. Jersey was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Jersey, early day residents of this
city.  He taught in the Ashley school many years ago and while a resident here
was prominent in the early day band organizations of this village.  He studied
law later and then practiced at his profession for many years in Lansing before
retiring some years ago.
