Jersey passed from earth life at an early hour last Monday morning, aged 74 years. He has been in feeble health for several years past, the effect of kidney trouble. Mr. Jersey located in Otisco township, near Smyrna, nearly 50 years ago, and for the past 30 years has resided in Belding. He leaves a wife and six children to mourn his absence. His children are: E. W. Jersey of this city, Henry Jersey of Boyne City, Frank Jersey of Reed City, Neil Jersey of Saginaw, Peter Jersey of Toledo, and Mrs. Alice Mitchell of Lansing. The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the home of E. W. Jersey, conducted by Rev. J. J. Staley, the five sons acting as pall bearers. Burial in the Belding cemetery. ---- The death of Peter H. Jersey, which was not unexpected occurred at and early hour Monday morning. The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon from the residence of E. W. Jersey, the burial being in the city cemetery. He was one of the early residents in these parts, and was 74 years of age. He was the father of the following sons all of whom were present at the funeral: Peter Jersey, the celebrated cornetist, of Toledo, Henry Jersey of Boyne City, Frank Jersey of Reed City, Neil Jersey of Saginaw, and Ald. E. W. Jersey of second ward, this city.
