Sept. 18, 2013 White Pigeon- Jimmie Nelson Jewell, 65, of White Pigeon, passed away at 3:15 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at his home, after a brave two year battle with cancer. He was born on March 13, 1948, in Greenville, to Jack and Laura (Orvis) Jewell. Jim is survived by his significant other, Marlene Wait of White Pigeon; mother, Laura Jewell; a daughter, Roxanne Jewell; a sister, Cindy Green; a brother, Earl (Tessee) all of Belding and another brother, Royal (Sharon) Jewell of Morley; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Rene; his father, Jack Jewell and his brother, Hoyte "Buck" Jewell. Jim worked many years for Extruded Metals as an operator and then as a millwright following his father's footsteps. Jim enjoyed his grandkids, playing golf, singing karaoke, riding his motorcycle, fishing, sports, the outdoors and camping. Jim was a past commander of the Millersburg, Ind., Legion and the Color Guard. He was a member of Bristol Legion Post 143 and he also helped the color guard at Constantine Legion Post 223. Jim loved to help his fellow man, especially U.S. Vets. Cremation has taken place. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Otisco Cemetery. Luncheon will follow immediately at the Central Riverside Park Pavilion 1, Belding. Memorial donations may be given in his name to Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
