Ionia Sentinel Standard, 30 Jun 1958

Mrs. Lellah T. Jewett, 77, died shortly after 7 o’clock Monday morning, after a 
long illness.

She was born in Delhi, Ontario, Canada, June 19, 1881.  A few years later her 
family moved to Buffalo, N.Y., where she was married to Harry T. Jewett in 
1906.  Mr. Jewett died in 1937 while they were living in Valdosta, Ga.

In 1938 Mrs. Jewett came to Ionia with her sister, Mrs. Florence King, who had 
been living with her for about a year.  For several years Mrs. Jewett operated 
Jewett’s Dress shop.  She was a member of the First Presbyterian church.

She is survived by one niece, Mrs. H. T. MacDonough of Ionia, and one brother-
in-law and two sisters-in-law, all living in New York state.

Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Myers funeral home with the 
Rev. Wilfred Sawyier officiating.  The body will be taken to Wellsville, N.Y. 
Thursday morning for interment at Woodland cemetery there.
