Mrs. Johnson was born at Angola August 20, 1893. Her maiden name was Mildred Bailey and in 1924 she was united in marriage to Mr. Johnson, district salesman for the Standard Oil Co. In 1930 they came to Portland from Grand Rapids, residing here since. Mrs. Johnson was a talented vocalist, appearing in many of the larger western cities with the Gallea Opera company and as a Chautauqua entertainer before her marriage. Since coming to Portland she had charmed many local audiences with her exquisite voice, always being willing that others less fortunately endowed should share and enjoy this accomplishment that nature had bestowed upon her. Besides the husband, she is survived by two children, Jimmie, 6, and Richard, 3, also a mother at Angola, Indiana.
